County commissioners approve jail contract

Lincoln County commissioners this week approved a contract with Ascend Commercial Builders, LLC for the jail renovation. They also awarded a bid for equipment and outfitting of five 2024 Dodge Ram vehicles for the Sheriff’s Department.

A couple of weeks ago the commissioners awarded a bid for the renovation of the county jail to Ascend Commercial Builders for $2,440,270.43. That was the low bid submitted of six that were opened.

This week, they also adopted a Use-Tax Jail Renovation Change Order resolution to up to 10 percent of the total bid price.

ARPA funds are being used for renovation of the jail. ARPA funds were approved in 2021 during COVID-19 and provided through the American Rescue Plan Act to state, local, county, tribal and territorial governments to provide assistance with various projects.

Commissioners this week also adopted a Use-Tax OSU Extension Building Change Order resolution.

They approved an ARPA Expenditure Documentation Form and ARPA Funds for Loss Revenue Reimbursement Resolution.

In other business, commissioners: Approved six-month bids with the exception of rock for District 3. Approved the Lincoln County Treasurer Statutory report. Approved a CBRI Account for engineering fees for three bridges in District 2.
