Dale school board approves 3 principals

Dale Board of Education members have approved contracts for its three principals for the 2024-2025 school year and also approved the calendar for the next school year.

Board members voted to renew the contracts of Elementary Principal Tamee Daniel, Middle School Principal Kim Powell and High School Principal Erick Muncy.

They voted approval of the 2024-2025 school calendar and calculated the school year by 1,080 hours instead of 180 days.

Board members approved the 2023-2024 audit contract and engagement letter with Bledsoe, Hewett and Gullekson, CPA’s.

They also voted approval of updating federal programs and procedures. They approved OSSBA policies for OklahomaAccreditation Compliance, Oklahoma Accreditation Standard and updated parent participation policy.

During his superintendent’s report, Jones reviewed financial information with the board showing how January of this year compared to the same month in 2023.

The warrants as of January 2024 were $3,283,874 and in January of 2023 they were $3,039,295. That’s an increase of $244,579 over January of 2023, he noted.

Building Fund cash balance in January of this year was $2,358,570 compared to $180,249 in January of 2023. That’s anincreaseof$2,178,321 and Jones attributed that to insurance money.

TheGeneralFundcash balance in January of this year stood at $1,794,894, about $797,592 more than the $997,302 balance in January of 2023, he said.

State Aid received as of January of 2024 is $2,267,777 and that is an increase of $619,441 over the $1,648,336 of January 2023.

The County sales tax balance was $275,136 in January 2024, $216,139 less than the $491,275 in January of 2023, he advised board members.

January sales tax check amounted to $28,462.
