Chandler Public Schools announced that their February Lions of the Month are Claire Irby and Paige Navarro.
Claire is the daughter of Joseph and Tracy Irby.
She maintains a 4.0 GPA while taking advanced English courses. She is also a member of the Pom squad and Postponing Sexual Involvement at Chandler High School.
Claire is also a part of Dreamcatchers Dance Company.
She has been to the Academic banquet for 4 years. She has also been named a Jazz State Champion, Hip Hop State Champion and Academic Pom State Champion. Claire is also part of the OSDTDA All Region-West Dance Team and OSDTDA All State Dance Team.
Her leadership activities include National Honors Society, Positive Peers, Student Council, Junior Class Representative and BancFirst Student Board of Directors. She also volunteers with God and People’s Food Pantry, Lions Club Fundraisers and Special Olympics.
After graduating from high school Claire plans on majoring in Forensic Science as well as being part of a dance team at a college or university. The college is still undecided.
Paige Navarro is the daughter of Sam and Samantha Navarro. She maintains a 3.88 GPA while taking advanced English classes. Paige is also taking Advanced Health Careers courses at Gordon Cooper Technology Center where she has obtained certifications in Basic Life Support, Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health and Long Term Care Aide. She is also working on getting certified as a Phlebotomy Technician, EKG Technician and Sports Therapy Assistant. Her activities at Chandler High School include the Chandler Varsity Pom Squad, Health Occupations Students of America, Postponing Sexual Involvement, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and Gifted and Talented. She also serves as the Chapter President for Health Occupations Students of America and is an assistant dance teacher at Sherri’s School of Dance.
Her awards and honors include National Youth Leadership Forum: Medicine, Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence, Outstanding Clinical Student of the Year, The American Legion Certificate of School Award, Academic Achievement Awards, State Academic Pom, Jazz State Champion and Hip Hop State Champion
