A man from Stroud has been charged with a total of four felonies in two different cases and a Stroud woman faces two felonies in connection with some of the counts against the man.
Dalton Dash Brown, 35, was first charged in Lincoln County District Court on March 4 this year with a felony of endangering others while eluding/attempting to elude a police officer.
Court records show a $25,000 bench warrant was issued on March 4 for his arrest on that charge.
The information filed against Brown shows he was attempting to elude an officer by increasing his speed and driving at excessively high speeds on gravel roads, forcing other vehicles off the road and endangering the public on Dec. 12, 2020 in Lincoln County.
On March 11, prosecutors filed three more felonies against him in another case, among them conspiracy.
Brown was charged with conspiracy, knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property and endangering others while eluding/attempting to elude a police officer.
A $5,000 bond was set on those charges for Brown. Court records show that he failed to appear n court on March 18 and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest on that day.
The conspiracy charge alleges Brown conspired with Stephanie Irene Cullum, 40, on Feb. 15 this year to conceal and or withhold valuable stolen property from the owner Smicklas Chervolet, a 2018 Black Chevrolet Pickup truck.
The charge states that it began at 356658 E. 810 Road in Stroud. Each is charged also with knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property on Feb. 15 that same pickup truck valued in excess of $30,000.
The felonious endangering others while eluding/ attempting to elude a police officer accuses Brown of operating that stolen pickup truck at excessive speed and in a dangerous manner in darkness, at times driving with headlights switched off and also speeding through posted stop-signs at intersections in an attempt to elude law enforcement.
The charge states it began at 356658 East 810 Road in Stroud in Lincoln County and ended with Brown eventually wrecking the vehicle at C.R. 3500 and C.R. 770.
Brown was supposed to make an initial appearance in Lincoln County District Coourt last Thursday, March, 18, but failed to appear. Special Judge Emily Mueller issued a $5,000 bench warrant for his arrest.
Cullum also faces two misdemeanors. She is charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing two small glass pipes used for smoking illicit substances without having any medical or other lawful need requiring the paraphernalia.
Bond was set for Cullum at $5,000 and she made her initial appearance on Thursday, March 18, before Judge Mueller.
Judge Mueller set a pre-preliminary hearing for Cullum at 1:30 p.m. on May 6.
