Felony charge for Agra woman

An Agra woman is facing a felony and a misdemeanor charge following her arrest by Lincoln County deputies recently.

A formal charge of possession of firearm after former conviction of a felony was filed June 24 in Lincoln County District Court against Trista Marie Dye, 38.

She was also charged with the misdemeanor of pointing a weapon at another.

Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk set Dye’s bond at $6,000 and she made her initial appearance on June 30.

On that date, Special Judge Emily Mueller slated her pre-preliminary hearing for Aug. 18.

Count 1 accuses Dye on June 18 at a location in Agra of having a firearm in her possession after she was previously convicted in Lincoln County District Court of “false personation of another,” a felony.

Count 2 charges her on the same day of pointing a pistol at Justin Wilkinson.

Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Shawn Stewart, in a probable cause affidavit, reported he was dispatched to a residence in Agra shortly after 11:30 p.m. on June 18 for a possible trespassing call. He stated he was told the reporting party, Justin Wilkinson, had advised that his ex-girlfriend Dye was outside his residence and had been throwing rocks at his window.

Deputies Steven Hinkle and Gage Elder later arrived. Wilkinson had advised that Dye had a handgun that she pointed at him that evening.

Stewart reported that Elder found the gun laying in the passenger seat of a vehicle.

Dye was handcuffed by Stewart and Elder later took Dye to the Lincoln County jail. Stewart said he had dispatch check to see if Dye was a convicted felon and dispatch advised him she was.
