Guilty plea in felonies

A Prague man charged with three felonies, among them two for assaulting officers, has entered a guilty plea.

Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court Feb. 3, against Ted William Griffi n, 35.

The three felonies include felony discharging firearm into dwelling, assault and battery on a police officer and assault and battery on police officer.

Recently appearing before District Judge Sarah Bridge, Griffin, pursuant to a plea agreement, entered a guilty plea. The plea was received and the court found him guilty as charged.

Judge Bridge placed Griffin in Lincoln County Mental Health Program. She ordered him to comply with all rules and conditions of the program.

If the defendant successfully completes the program, the case will be dismissed.

If the defendant is unsuccessful the defendant will be sentenced to 10 years on Count 1, and five years each on counts two and three.

In count 1, Griffin is accused on Jan. 22, 2025 of discharging any firearm or other deadly weapon specifically by firing a gun into the residence at 106351 S. 3490 Road in Prague.

Count 2 charges him on the same day of striking Lincoln County Deputy Steven Hinkle in the face, chest and or/legs by kicking him with the intent to injure him while Hinkle was performing his duties as a deputy.
