A Chandler man has pleaded guilty to two felonies and a misdemeanor and has been handed deferred sentences on each count.
He was arrested by a Lincoln County deputy.
Christopher Dillian Simpson, 27, was charged in Lincoln County District Court June 21 with child abuse and domestic assault and battery by strangulation, a felony.
He was also charged with domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.
Simpson appeared before Special Judge Emily Mueller on June 2 and she set his bond at $25,000 with no contact with the victims as a condition of the bond.
He made his initial appearance on June 22 and Judge Mueller ordered him back in court July 20 for a further initial appearance.
On that date, appearing before Special Judge Emily Mueller and as the result of a plea bargain with the state, he entered guilty pleas.
The Court found him guilty as charged on all counts.
Judge Mueller deferred sentencing for seven years on all counts, handed him a $100 judicial assessment on each count, a $100 VCA, court costs, he is to pay 991C fees, ordered he obtain an alcohol and drug assessment and follow up treatment.
Simpson is to obtain a mental health evaluation and all follow up treatment, the judge stated, he is to attend AA meetings; and she placed him on supervised probation with Oklahoma Court Services. He is to report to the Court Clerk’s office and probation office.
In Count 1, he was accused on June 1 of child abuse by injuring a minor child under 18 by slapping A.J., 5 at the time, in the face and pulling her hair, causing her injury, the charge states.
Count 2 charged him on the same date of domestic abuse by strangulation by strangling or attempting to strangle Kimberly Robinson with whom he resided, by grabbing the neck of Robinson and choking her, with intent to cause her bodily harm.
In the misdemeanor count, Simpson was accused of domestic abuse assault and battery by biting Robinson on the face and arm in the presence of children at their residence. Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Steven Hinkle stated in a probable cause affidavit that Robinson came into the Sheriff’s Office to report domestic violence against her and her children. She reportedly informed the deputy about an argument that allegedly led to the domestic assault.
Hinkle noted he saw a bite mark on her face, and the effects on both sides of her nose, the lower portion of her right arm and upper portion of her right arm. The deputy said Robinson also had another bruise on her left elbow.
He reported he notified the Department of Human Services for a joint response.
Hinkle said he later drove to the residence on South Memorial Road, taking Simpson into custody and taking him to the Lincoln County Jail.
