Lincoln Co. Commission

Emily Kalka Staff Writer The Lincoln County Commissioners approved the Lincoln County Fair Board’s application for a Route 66 Revitalization Grant to build a new sign along Route 66, at their regular meeting on Aug. 4 at the Lincoln County Courthouse. They also approved an engagement letter with 5 Tool Management as the new grant administrator for the Fair Board and gave the okay for the grant administrator to open bids for the new sign, which should start on Sept. 2. The commissioners tabled two other items regarding the fairgrounds and took no action on another. The first two were on awarding bids for the barn spray installation and barn liner paneling. No action was taken on a bid for natural gas blower heaters, as there is a chance they may not be needed. An executive session was called regarding the settling of claims in pending litigation with Purdue Pharm L.P. When they returned, the commissioners voted essentially to participate in the Governmental Entities Settlement Agreement (GESA), Purdue-State Subdivision Agreement and proposed nationwide settlement agreements against opioid manufacturers Alvogen, Amneat, Apotex, Hikma, Indivior, Mylan, Sandoz, Sun and Zydus. They plan to hold a special meeting to discuss the opioid abatement settlement fund and some expenditures the County plans to pay out of it. The county commissioners also approved the following: ● Resolution to set up ARPA Interest Account for inmate transfer. ● A donation of ballistic vests for the Sheriff’s Office from Keyera Corp. ● Resolution for Sheriff Office Funding Assistance Grant Application. ● Transcripts and Deed for sale of county property. ● Title sheet for Bridge 19 in District #2 and Bridge 47 in District #1. ● Resolution for ACCO damage loss insurance payment. ● Change Order #5 for OSU Extension office. ● District #3’s use of the Revolving Equipment Fund for lease. ● District #3’s use of CBRI for road striping. ● Resolution appointing requesting/receiving/inventory officers for the Agra Nutrition and Health Department.
