Lincoln County man graduates in Class 38

Derek White of Lincoln County has graduated in Class 38, a part of Leadership Oklahoma, according to a press release from the organization.

Leadership Oklahoma is a state organization dedicated to cultivating, connecting and inspiring leaders to shape a better Oklahoma.

The class of 47 leaders representing a variety of industries and communities from across the state completed a nine-month program that was designed to deepen the participants’ understanding of Oklahoma’s most pressing obstacles and opportunities, the release said.

This was done through immersive experiences so that participants could strengthen their leadership capacity while building meaningful, lasting relationships with fellow leaders.

Class 38 traveled to communities all over the state and gained firsthand insight into industries, cultures and regional dynamics. They also engaged with state leaders, industry experts and community advocates.

“LeadershipOklahoma’s Class 38 represents a remarkable group of leaders whose shared experiences over the past nine months have created lifelong connections,” said Leadership Oklahoma Chairwoman Kathy Banks-Monroe. “They are already making meaningful contributions in their communities and are poised to continue driving positive change across our state.”

A commencement ceremony was held on May 2 and featured remarks from Banks-Monroe. She commended Class 38 for its dedication to service and commitment to advancing Oklahoma’s future.

Since its founding in 1986, Leadership Oklahoma has graduated over 1,900 leaders who continue to shape Oklahoma’s future through service and leadership.
