Two men each face two felonies and one of those already has a third felony pending that was filed against him in January.
Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on March 10, 2025 against Conner Lane Evans, 26, no address available, and Devin Brown, 21, of Stroud. Each faces charges of conspiracy, a felony and second degree burglary.
Bench warrants were issued for the arrest of each and court records show that the bench warrant against Brown was returned and filed on March 13.Associate District Judge Joe Dobry has set bond for Brown at $5,000 and scheduled an initial appearance for him at 9 a.m. March 27.
Evans remains at large. Court records show that Brown also was formally charged on Jan. 6, 2025 in Lincoln County District Court with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He also had a $5,000 warrant issued for his arrest on that count that was returned March 13, 2025.
Judge Dobry has set his bond at $5,000 and his initial appearance on that charge is set for 9 a.m. March 27 as well.
In the two charges filed against Evans and Brown in count 1 they are accused of conspiracy on Nov. 19, 2024 by conspiring and agreeing with one another to commit the crime of burglary by going together to the location of the burglary earlier in the day and entering into the building through a broken window in furtherance of the conspiracy.
Count 2 charges them with second degree burglary on the same day by breaking and entering into a building located at Peggy’s Salon at 116 N. Allied Road in Stroud owned by Peggy andAndy Murfin in which property of value was contained by entering through the window with the intent to steal.
In the charge filed against Brown Jan. 6, 2025 he is accused on Dec. 3, 2024 of driving a 2008 Hyundai Senota without being entitled to its possession and without the consent of its owner, Justice Matz depriving Martz of the possession of his vehicle temporarily or permanently.
