Meeker Board of Education members have named two new directors and hired a new assistant high school football coach and also accepted the resignation of Brad Seaborn, high school teacher, Athletic and Transportation Director Seaborn has taken a position with the Strother School District, Meeker School Supt. Jeff Pruitt confirmed.
Pruitt said the board members named Matt Jones as the new Athletic Director. Jones will also continue to serve as Middle School Principal and High School Girl’s Basketball Coach, Pruitt said.
Pruitt noted that Caven Herring will serve as Assistant Athletic Director.
Board members approved naming High School Principal Brad Buxton as the new Transportation director while maintaining his present position, Pruitt confirmed.
Austin Bizzell has been hired as a new assistant High School Football Coach, he said.
In other business, board members: Approved the annual continuing resolutions for 2025-2026. Approved the Meeker School Salary Schedule for 2025-2026. Approved a waiver/deregulation for the elementary school library. Approved a contract with Kelly Curry as Physical Therapist for 2025-2026. Approved an option to convert from a day calendar to hours for the 2025-2026 school year. Approved the High School, Middle School and Elementary School handbooks for 2025-2026.
