New Year’s Resolutions

To celebrate the new year, The Lincoln County News asked residents and local dignitaries in the county to share their goals for 2025. Happy New Year!

- I’m not a big fan of New Year’s resolutions because they usually go in one year and out the other!

Jason Orr, Chandler City Manager

- My New Year resolution is to help others more, relax and enjoy life more and take life one day at a time. Live with no regrets!

- My NewYear’s resolution for my band kids is to cater more to their needs versus what I think they should be able to do. To also continue feeding into them mentally and spiritually because the world needs more of it especially with the younger generation. For my home life I want to be moreemotionallyavailableformywifeand children. I need to learn to set aside time and energy for them because they are my whole life and will always be there for me.

Tony Thoma, Meeker Band Director

- Resolution normally means a change in direction, right? From my standpoint as mayor, I think the direction that we’re heading is a good one. And I think we’ve got a lot of good, positive things going on for Chandler. And so, I’m resolute to making sure that those positive changes continue.

Kent McVey, Chandler Mayor

- My New Year’s resolution is to devote time to making memories with family and friends and traveling.
