Stroud art students were hard at work helping to jazz up an AirBnB on Route 66. The mural was designed by Art I and Art II students Brennyn Neeley and Jackson Mitchell, though several more students helped with bringing it to life. Work was completed on May 12.
The property owners, John and Janna Collins, wanted to take part in celebrating the Route 66 Centennial and decided to collaborate with the students to reflect the town’s deep connection with the historic highway. They approached Stroud High School art teacher Leslie Martin, who was excited to have her students contribute their artistic skills.
“They did an amazing job. We are very proud of the mural and the students’ work and dedication to the project,” John said. “Not to mention all the hours Mrs. Martin worked on this project. So from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to Mrs. Martin and all the students who had a part in amazing this mural.”
The mural is located on the west side of Stroud. The following Art I, Art II and AP 3D Art and Design students helped:
