Stroud’s Psi Master chapter members have been busy with business meetings, socials, service projects and fundraisers. President, Chris Hodge, led meetings. A fundraiser was kicked off selling spring flowers.
Membership in the Stroud chamber of commerce was continued with a membership and a donation was made to the Beta Sigma Phi Endowment fund to support a variety of charitable groups including Diabetes, Lupus, Breast Cancer research projects.
Meeting hostesses served refreshments and presented the programs which included Cindy Mason and cohost, Michelle Doherty, and program on the life of Martin Luther King; Pam Clement Darlene Lau hosting two meetings with guest speaker, Jeromy Smart, who shared his experiences in film industry and movie production, and a program on “How Smiles Make a Difference.”
Other hostesses were Linda Waller whose program was on the topic of, “Aging” and how it should be accepted as normal and to stay active.
Mary Jackson also hosted a meeting with cohost, Destiny Jackson, and St Patrick’s Day history and traditions were shared. New Officers were elected including Sandy Jones, President; Kim Johnson, Vice President; Cindy Mason, Recording Secretary; Destiny Jackson, Treasurer; Sue Helms, Corresponding Secretary and Darlene Lau, Extension Officer and will take office in May.
Pam Hunt and Kim Johnson served Mexican food treats at their meeting and Johnson presented a program on the “Love of Music” with members participating in guessing song lyrics.
In other activities, the Valentine committee hosted an afternoon luncheon honoring Valentine Queen, Chris Hodge with members and guests attending and presenting her with yellow roses, a crown and pin.
The Social committee hosted socials including a “Favorite Things” brunch with guests exchanging gifts of their favorite items followed by serving a variety of dishes and desserts and a baked potato bar social with games of Crazy Bridge.
A convention committee has been selected to begin plans for the 2026 State Beta Sigma Phi convention that will be hosted by the Stroud chapter Pam Hunt will chair with cochair, Chris Hodge. Events are being planned to recognize the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and 95th anniversary of the founding of Beta Sigma Phi.
