A Stroud motorist, who has at least four previous felony convictions and who was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, has been scheduled for the felony disposition docket this fall.
Joshuah Dylan Standley, 33, was charged in Lincoln County District Court on Jan. 8, 2024,with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs.
He waived his preliminary hearing. During his arraignment recently before District Judge John Canavan, Standley entered an innocent plea. The judge received the plea and scheduled his cause for the felony disposition docket on Sep. 30.
The judge denied Standley’s request for bond reduction.
Standley appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on Jan. 2 and she set his bond at $2,000.
A further appearance was scheduled for Standley onApril 15 at which time Special Judge Emily Mueller scheduled his pre-preliminary hearing for June 27.
He was arrested on Jan. 1, 2024 by Stroud Police Officer Damon Bounds on SH 99 and later transported to the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler.
Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Thompson shows that Standley has been convicted of four felonies since 2014.
On Dec. 17, 2014, he was convicted in Lincoln County District Court of knowingly concealing stolen property.
On Sep. 18, 2019, he was convicted in Creek County District Court of driving while under the influence and placing bodily fluids on a government employee.
On June 14, 2019, he was convicted in Creek County District Court of manslaughter. Court records show that he pleaded guilty to the charge as a result of a plea agreement. He was sentenced to four years in the Department of the Corrections and received credit for time served.
