A judge has issued a $20,000 bench warrant for a man who was due in court to continue his preliminary hearing and failed to appear.
Ciano Edmond Draven Sneed, 25, who was formally charged May 27 in Lincoln County District Court with causing great bodily injury while eluding/ attempting to elude a police officer after former conviction of two or more felonies and driving with BAC of .08 or more— great bodily injury after conviction of two or more felonies, was due in court on Oct. 6.
Special Judge Emily Mueller issued the bench warrant.
A preliminary hearing was started recently for Sneedwhofacestwofelony charges and three misdemeanor counts following a pursuit that reached a speed of nearly 100 miles an hour and striking a vehicle headon, critically injuring the woman who was driving.
Judge Mueller began Sneed’s preliminary hearing on Sep. 8 and the balance of the hearing was continued until Sep. 29.
The judge had continued it again until Oct. 6. His $20,000 bond was forfeited.
In the current case against him, Sneed made his initial appearance before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk who set his bond at $10,000 and ordered him to return June 23 for his pre-preliminary hearing.
Sneed was arrested by MeekerPoliceOfficerRaymond Mackin after Mackin was advised by Lincoln County Comm Center of a suspect in a road rage incident involving a firearm inShawneetravelingnorthbound on SH 18 heading towards 1070 Road.
Mackin, in a probable cause affidavit, states he was driving southbound when the suspect vehicle passed him going northbound and that he turned around on the suspect vehicle starting a pursuit.
Sneed reportedly struck a curb at SH 18 and Bankers Hill.The officer said as they approached SH 18 and Carl Hubbell, that Sneed failed to stop at the four-way stop, striking a concrete slab before hitting another vehicle head-on.
In Count 1, Sneed is charged with eluding Mackin by increasing his speed and while eluding the officer caused a crash that resulted in great bodily harm to Jackie Cope.
Count 2 accuses him of causing a collision at Carl HubbellandSH18inwhich Cope suffered a broken ankle, a broken wrist and two broken fingers along with other internal injuries. It states Sneed was driving with BAC of .08 or more and that made the defendant incapable of safely driving a motor vehicle.
The misdemeanors filed against Sneed include driving without a valid driver’s license, improper passing and speeding in excess of the lawful maximum limit.
The affidavit also stated that Assistant Meeker Police Chief Scott Wilson investigated the injury traffic collision and that Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Roe initially transported Sneed to the Lincoln County Jail.
Supplemental information filed by prosecutors, shows Sneed has been convicted of at least five felonies in three different district courts since 2017.
The information filed in the case shows Sneed was convicted most recently earlier this year on April 13 in Pottawatomie County District Court of unauthorized use of a vehicle, a felony, only two months ago.
On Jan. 2, 2020, he was convicted in Oklahoma County District Court of Count 1, kidnapping, a felony; Count 2, domestic abuse by strangulation, a felony; and Count 3, domestic abuse, a misdemeanor.
On April 11, 2018 in Pottawatomie County, he was convicted of second degree burglary.
On July 6, 2017, in Seminole County District Court, he was convicted of Count 1, feloniously driving while under the influence of alcohol and Count 2, driving without a license, a misdemeanor.
