Woman charged with felony aggravated DUI

A woman from Moore has been charged with a felony count of DUI.

A charge was filed on Sept. 21 against Sierra Gaines, 32, for one felony count of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol -- aggravated by the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office for an incident that took place on or around Sept. 12, according to the filing.

The filing stated that Gaines was previously convicted of aggravated DUI in Oklahoma County in December 2024, and of DUI in the Municipal Court of Wichita, Kansas in November 2020.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Ofc. Dustin Le of the Prague Police Department was patrolling SH 62 in Prague on Sept. 12 at around 10:19 p.m. when he saw a vehicle traveling north on the highway. He reported that when the vehicle drove past him, he noted it had no taillights displaying the rear of the vehicle. He turned around to follow it and said he watched as it crossed the double yellow center line and the fog line.

He initiated a traffic stop at Jim Thorpe/Indian Smoke Shop and contacted the driver, later identified as Gaines. He stated that he noticed alleged slurred speech as well as an odor of intoxicants. He asked where she was coming from and Gaines stated the Boley Rodeo, according to the affidavit. Ofc. Le said at this point, he asked for her to exit the vehicle and to conduct a standardized field sobriety test. Gaines agreed.

Le stated in the report that he observed six out of six clues during the first part of the test. He stated that she also lost her balance and couldn’t properly count during other parts of the test. Based on this, Ofc. Le determined that he would charge Gaines with driving under the influence. He transported her to the Prague Police Department, where an itoxilyzer was was conducted. According to the probable cause affidavit, Gaines’ results were 0.22.
