Chandler’s Josh Holland

International trainer, author

Chandler High School graduate Josh Holland recently released his first book, The Awareness Shift, crediting much of his upbringing in a small community as a foundation for his fast growing career in the world of Health Optimization.

“Coming from a small town, I was able to develop my interpersonal relationships skills and really learn to hone in on how to assess people and adapt very well in many different types of environments,” he said.

Born and raised in Chandler, Josh talks about how his early start in martial arts, training under his father, Russell Holland, gave him a solid starting ground for his future career.

“In my younger years I never really considered myself to be a trainer,” he said. “I don’t think that came on my radar until college, but growing up in martial arts allowed me to understand more about the body and understand more about things like energy fields and how to build chi energy and some of the esoteric things that aren’t really seen in typical western society, especially when it comes to health and wellness.”

Putting these skills to good use, Josh soon began training clients, progressing to take on big names such as Madonna, Oscar Issacs, and Roger Waters, quickly becoming one of the top biohackers.

“What I like about working with anyone is that we each bring something different to the table when there’s a session to be had,” he said. “What I really love is to find out what makes that person tick. Because once you can figure out how a person works, then it’s a little bit easier to help them achieve what it is they want.”

This love for training eventually moved Josh to New York as he sought out new challenges, always keeping his roots close as he looked to find the ‘small town feel’ wherever his travels took him.

“I know what it’s like to come from a super small town and to know everyone’s name to then being in a huge metropolis city where you are one in thousands of people and have to find those small town pockets,” he said.

A personable mindset that he seems to incorporate into his training as it is evident that Josh’s career continues to grow, recently releasing his book The Awareness Shift.

“The awareness shift is designed to be a resource into helping people find their own ways in how they tick.”

“I try to compile as much of my own experiences within myself just traveling around the world and working with various clients, many with different types of backgrounds, to then offer some type of advice or level of awareness for my clients, my friends, my family and my loved ones,” he said.

Josh hopes that people will use his book as a resource to better themselves and make them more aware of their environment.

With a small town background he is very aware of how your environment and resources can directly affect your outcome.

“I feel like I learned a lot from being in a small town and I felt like I was able to learn so many things that a kid from a big city would never be able to ex perience. I am fortunate enough to be able to blend the two.”

He hopes that his lifestyle will be one that he can use to bring back, helping everyone build better resources in their home community.

“Chandler is where I came from, I am a product of Chandler, Oklahoma, and it’s my goal to bring back as much as I can and I’m working on doing that,” he said. “The legacy I want to leave in Chandler is going to be great, and that’s a big motivator for me.”
