Meeker’s Board of Education has approved the final Estimate of Needs for 2021-2022.
School Supt. Jeff Pruitt explained to the board the 2021-2022 Estimate of Needs totals $8,132,750.
Board members also approved the expenditure budget by bold function codes.
The board, without going into executive session, approved offering a contract for the 2021-2022 school year to Paige Fullbright as an elementary aide.
In other business, the board:
Approved the Title 1 School Wide annual review.
Agreed to allow the Meeker Youth League to use the old and elementary gymnasiums.
Approved the board meeting dates for 2022. Pruitt explained all the meetings will be on the second Monday of the month except for March when the meeting will be the first Monday. The second Monday conflicts with the Spring Break, he told them
Agreed to a contract with Express Employment Professionals.
During their reports, High School Principal Brad Buxton said enrollment is 195 at one site and 17 at the other. Middle School Principal Rodney Treat reported the school has gained a couple of students and the total is about 145.
Meeker Education Center and Alternative Education Principal Ginger Pritchard said, “altogether we’ve added three students. We’re offering 39 different subjects,” she advised board members.
Elementary students total 344. Elementary Principal Candice Gatz was unable to attend the meeting but provided those figures for the board.
Pruitt, in his report, said three buses the district is purchasing from the bond issue approved earlier this year are ready.
