Trail set for Harrah couple charged with abuse

Jury trials have been scheduled for a Harrah pair charged with multiple child sexual abuse crimes following their arrest earlier this year.

Jeremy C. Barnes, Sr., 36 and Amanda D. Bond-Langston, 32, waived their preliminary hearings.

Each faces six counts of child sexual abuse and one count each of child neglect.

The formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court against the pair on Jan. 21.

On May 25, before District Judge Cindy Ashwood, Barnes waived his right to a speedy trial, court records show.

Judge Ashwood set the case for the felony disposition docket at 9:30 a.m. Sep. 28 and a jury trial for 9 a.m. on Oct. 18.

According to an affidavit filed by Acting District Attorney Investigator Kristen Weygand, Bond-Langston and Barnes were arrested just before 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 2121 E. 1st Street in Chandler.

On May 25, Bond-Langston waived her right to a speedy trial. Judge Ashwood set the case for the felony disposition docket at 9:30 a.m. on Sep. 28 and for a jury trial at 9 a.m. on Oct. 18.

Prosecutors claim the alleged crimes the two are charged with occurred between Jan. 1, 2016, and Jan. 7, 2021.

Each of the seven felony counts is punishable by up to life imprisonment and a fine of up to $5,000.
