A graveside funeral was held for James Vernon Adams Sr. of Chandler on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at Star Valley Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
Adams was born Dec. 20, 1938, in Warren, Ark. He died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, in Oklahoma City at the age of 81 years.
He served in the United States Air Force as a military police officer.
Preceding him in death were his mother Duffie Mae (Russell), his son Charles Adams and his brother Phillip Langley.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Uyvonna Jo (Brown) Adams of the home; his sons, Kavin Adams and his wife Sharon of Broken Arrow, Okla., and James “Jimmy” Adams Jr. of Norman, Okla.; his stepson David McBride Jr. of Oklahoma City; his brother Zell Adams of California; four grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
