Jane Ellen Kimberlin Fleming, age 71, entered Heaven’s gates on February 6, 2024.

She was born in St. Anthony’s hospital in OKConAugust23,1952, to Vernea Mettie Terrill Kimberlin and Bert Moddrill Kimberlin. Her sister, Gean, and brother, Dale, welcomed her to the family. She attended school in Wellston, Oklahoma, from first grade through 12th grade. While there, she became best friends with Darlene Overstreet Scaffide. They stayed in touch all these years and every Thursday morning, Jane would call Darlene, or Darlene would call Jane. They would visit and exchange prayer requests.

A family friend, Cindy Blodgett, introduced her to James Fleming from Ponca City and they were married on December 23, 1983. Jane moved to Ponca and immediately began the journey of wife and home keeper. They did not have children of their own so Jane began babysitting. She watched several children in her home, and also babysat in the home of various church members from Central Baptist. They joined Central Baptist Church on April 15, 1984, and became very active in various ministries. They enjoyed going to summer youth camp with the church and working in the kitchen. They were very faithful members of the church and attended every service and activity at the church. If the church doors were open, they were there and helped in any way they could. Jane made several professions of faith until she finally got the peace she needed. While still at the altar she said, “I’ve finally got peace!”

James and Jane also had two “fur babies” that they loved dearly – J.J. and Buddy.

The highlight of each summer for Jane was the Terrill Family Reunion. Jane enjoyed those get-togethers very much.

Jane had several phrases that she loved to say! “Hello Darling,” was one of them! And you had to say it with a certain “drawl” to emphasize “Darling”. Had a flare of “dah-ling” to it! Another favorite phrase was “Welcome to the Nut House”. She had a sign that hung on the front door with this phrase and she would also answer the phone, “James and Janes Nut house”. One of her favorite phrases was from her mother. When they would get sick, her mother would say, “I’ll take you to the ole’ red barn and knock you in the head”.

If Jane had your phone number, you also got a phone call on your birthday complete with her own rendition of the “Happy Birthday” song! She had an amazing memory of birthdays of family and friends.

Jane was an avid reader and enjoyed Christian fiction. She loved the Gaither Homecoming episodes and TheAndy Griffith Show. Her absolute favorite episode was “Aunt Bee’s Pickles”. She also had several TV Evangelists and preachers that she watched regularly. Jane was preceded in death by her parents. Jane is survived by her husband of 40 years, James, who she would often refer to as “Whoo Whoo Head”. She is also survived by her sister, Gean Kim Berlin McNeill of Midwest City, and her brother, Dale (and wife Lesley) Kimberlin of Braggs. Jane was very proud of her nieces and nephew and loved them dearly. She is survived by her nieces, Susan Rear, Holly Brown and her nephew,Aaron Kimberlin. She was also very close to her former sister-in-law, Toie Rubright – the family member who engaged with her in the “dah-ling” tradition. Jane will be greatly missed by Brenda Waterloo, Cindy Blodgett, Marla Gammill, Linda Martin (family member who organized the Terrill Family Reunions) and the congregation of Central Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held on March 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church in Ponca City, OK. 1732 E. Coleman Road.
