Lifelong Stroud resident Martha Jane Cushing was born to Jess and Needa (Barnett) Alley on December 9, 1928, in Stroud. She died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the age of 92 years.
Cushing, a Stroud High School graduate, worked in the hospital as a licensed practical nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard Cushing, her son Joseph “Joey” Cushing, her sisters Mary Anderson and Molly Pryor and her brothers Max Alley and Scott Alley.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Jess Alley and John and Patricia Cushing; her daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Randy Place and Jennifer and Bryan Sweatt; six grandchildren and their spouses, and five greatgrandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Brown, and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Stroud Cemetery under the care of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
