Ruth Steadman of Wellston was born April 13, 1932, in Shelly, Idaho, and died Friday, May 14, 2021, at the age of 89 years.
Steadman, the daughter of Francis Leo and Vessie Viola Barrows, married Jake H. Stewart on April 26, 1954, in Tacoma, Wash. She had nine siblings, Betty Jean, Lorraine, Nina, Connie Mae and Francis Jay, Leon Landon, Lamar Dee, Gary Lee and Ronald Max.
A 1951 graduate of West Seattle High School, she worked for TG&Y Stores.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Richard and Tammy Stewart of McLoud, Okla., Deby and David Gregg of Denver, Kathe and Jimmie Schmidt of Wellston; her brother Ron Barrows of Basalt, Idaho; ex-husband, Jake Stewart of Wellston; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and other family and friends.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the chapel of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston, which handled the final arrangements. The Rev. Roy Hayes officiated.
