Erma Anderson

Erma Anderson, age 90, went to be with her Lord on July 15, 2022, surrounded by her family. Erma was born on Oct. 17, 1931 in Cherryville, Mo. to Otto and Martha Pyatt. She met Ray Anderson “the love of her life”, and they married shortly after on Sept. 8, 1951 in Salem, Ark. From this union four children were born, Janet, Anita, Steve, and Gary. Erma was a homemaker, but also babysat her grandchildren and some of her friends’ children. She loved to cook for her family! Some of her hobbies included making quilts, embroidering, reading, and word search puzzles. She loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower beds.

Erma was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn in 1976. She loved going to church and serving her Lord! Some of her finest qualities were her loving nature and her gentle spirit.

Erma was loved dearly by her family and friends. She treasured the time she spent with her family! Everyone always remarked about her beautiful smile! To know her was to love her! She will be greatly missed! Erma was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ray; her parents; son, Steve; three brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by daughter Janet Herrmann and husband, Arthur; daughter Anita Earnest and husband, Dondi; son Gary Anderson; five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, two brothers, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

A funeral was held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Church of the Firstborn in Chandler with interment following in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
