Otho Luther McEntire, 89, of Agra was born May 12, 1932, in Sparks, Okla. He died Tuesday, April 26, 2022, surrounded by family.
McEntire, the son of Martin and Vergie (Howard) McEntire, married Grace Wright in Chandler.
He retired from working in the oilfield and was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Parkland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bobby McEntire; his son-in-law, Frank Chapman; and six siblings, Alfred McEntire, Elnora Graham, Edward McEntire, Dempsey McEntire, Seldon McEntire and Nathan McEntire.
His wife of over 70 years, Grace McEntire, survived him by only 16 hours following him in death on April 27, 2022.
He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Evon and Carroll Thronesbery, Tawanna Chapman, LaReva and Rudy Mandeville, and Brenda Hart; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn McEntire; his siblings and their spouses, Stella Rodgers, Viola and Carl Mason, and Thelma and Donnie Bean; his sister-in-law Willa Jean McEntire; nine grandchildren and their spouses; 15 greatgrandchildren; and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Wes McFarland Gymnasium in Agra. Burial followed at Parkland Cemetery under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Okla.
Grace Edith McEntire, 84, of Agra was born June 23, 1937, in Parkland, Okla. She died Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in Chandler surrounded by family.
The daughter of George and Hazel Wright, she married Otho McEntire.
She and her husband owned and operated a grocery store in Parkland before she started working for Walmart, from which she retired. She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at Parkland.
Her husband of over 70 years, Otho McEntire, preceded her in death by only 16 hours. She was also preceded in death by her father; her mother and stepfather, Hazel and Nathan Retherford; her son Bobbie McEntire and son-in-law Frank Chapman; stepsister Lois Huckabay and stepbrothers, Thomas Retherford and Sam Retherford.
Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Evon and Carroll Thronesbery, Tawanna Chapman, LaReva and Rudy Mandeville, and Brenda Hart; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn McEntire; her siblings and their spouses, Rose and Ralph Gray, Diane Wright, Suzanne and Bill Rhodes; sisters-in-aw, Stella Rodgers, Viola and Carl Mason, Thelma and Donnie Bean, and Willa Jean McEntire.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and their spouses; 15 greatgrandchildren; and other family and friends.
