Peggy Jean (Meyer) Wilson

Peggy Jean (Meyer) Wilson, 85, of McLoud, Okla., passed from this life and was welcomed by Jesus to her eternal home on September 15, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Okla., after a battle with lung cancer. She was born October 24, 1935 in Ohiowa, Neb., to Roy and Rose (Novak) Meyer.

Peggy worked for the Oklahoma State Department of Education from 1977 until retiring in 1999. She enjoyed many camping trips with family and also with friends from various Military and non-Military camping sites. Peggy was a member of the McLoud First United Methodist Church and also enjoyed working with friends on several sewing and quilting groups.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Wilson; parents, Roy and Rose (Novak) Meyer; In-laws the Rev. Harold and Margaret Wilson; Sister Kathy (Meyer) Vaughn and husband Tom; Brother Ron Meyer and Sister-in-Law Donna Wilson.

Survivors include a Son James C. Wilson and wife Rhonda of Brownwood, Texas; Son Randall Wilson of McLoud; Daughter Cynthia Capp and husband Dave of Walnut Bottom, Penn.; Daughter Deborah Scowden and husband Steve of Moore, OK; and brother-in-law John Wilson of Springfield, Mo., and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at McLoud First United Methodist Church, 415 S. 8th Street, McLoud, OK 74851 followed by interment at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, 2648 N.E. Jake Dunn Rd., Elgin, OK 73538.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to the American Lung Association in Oklahoma at 710 W. Wilshire Blvd., Suite 101, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
