1. Update from Town Trustee Meeting
A. The locking of City Hall front door due to another strain outbreak of corona virus concluded with a vote to lock the front door during regular business hours 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday. Anyone needing to conduct business needs to call the City Hall phone number posted on the front door to make an appointment with whomever they need to see.
At the appointment they would need to wear a mask. The City employee would also wear a mask during the appointment. Please remember you may call anytime during regular hours. Bills may be paid at the drop box in front of City Hall or by credit card or at Vision bank.
B. The Growth & Development lease was voted on to take no action to allow all parties & Att. Hodgens to get a lease that all parties were agreeing to and also alternate locations have been discussed for the group to place the garden or other fundraisers at.
C. The old swing set & monkey bars were deemed & voted to be as surplus & to be sold at the junkyard as scrap. Both had failed an OMAG Inspection due to rust.
D. The Library has reported a $4,000 deficient because lack of Bunko parties, food sales & book sales & other events that they were not able to conduct due to COVID 19.
2. Update on Grants A. We received a check for $4500.00 from O.D.O.T. & D.E.Q. for landscaping & drainage for the Glenn Crest Park. We will receive another $500 when we turn in pictures of completion of the park.
B. The Duke Roots Grant that we got for $10,000 was activated this week for $3,608 linear feet of sewer manholes & lines was treated.
This is an environmentally free solution that will emulsify the roots in approx. 2 months.
Hopefully this $10,000 will be available again next year. If the money is there, we have already been approved for next year. “Roots Be Gone”. LOL
3. Update on PWA
A. Repairs on water lines all over town have & are being repaired at this time.
B. The town needs to start thinking about bringing a “Bond” or a “Sales Tax” increase for our people to vote on for a water & sewer line replacement & an asphalt overlay to our streets. We need to be the generation to step up & get this done for our children & grandchildren because by the time they get old enough, there may not be enough money to get it done.
*Let’s continue to social distance
*Keep washing our hands for at least 20 seconds & wash often.

*Thank you again for your continued support of all our local businesses & churches.
*Let’s keep up the love we are showing for our neighbors, friends & family because we are finding out that we are just that one breath of being gone forever.
