It’s about time for our veteran’s banners to go up on Main Street. If you have intended to buy one to honor or memorialize a friend or loved one, it’s not too late. All you need is a picture and two lines of information about the person.
Their picture does not have to be of them wearing a uniform; they may be in civilian clothes. Sometimes pictures in uniform are hard to come by, especially for our older veterans. The person also does not have to be from Stroud or a graduate of Stroud. The cost of one side of the banner is $125.
You may e-mail me the picture and information at towntalk74@gmail. com or call me at 918-527-9833.
MomandIranintoourgoodfriends John and Linda Killingsworth this past week.
The Killingsworths now live in Chandler, but I will always claim them for Stroud.
Many years ago, my parents, John and Linda and others from our church, First Baptist, went on a trip with the youth choir. They had a wonderful time and there is one story that every time Mom and John see each other, they relive that trip through the telling of one funny story.
I’m not going to repeat it but if you happen to run into John ask him about it.
He’s a great storyteller and a loyal Town Talk reader. I must give a big “Town Talk” shout out to him and to Linda for keeping up with their friends in Stroud.
