Fresh from winning the regional tournament on the road at Canute, the Dale Pirates open action in the state playoffs this afternoon at Dolese Park in Oklahoma City.
Coach Eddie Jeffcoat’s Pirates will face Rattan at 4 p.m. at Palmer Field.
In the Regionals, Dale defeated Calera 5-2 in their opening game. They then turned around and beat host Canute 8-5 to capture the Regional title.
Jeffcoat, when asked on Tuesday about Rattan, replied, “They’re pretty good.”
Winning pitcher in the Calera game was senior
Connor Kuykendall and against Canute sophomore Casen Richardson tossed five innings and got the win with Kukendall relieving him for the final two innings.
Dale collected seven hits in the Canute win and five against Calera.
