Sophomore Landon Earp failed to place in the OSSAA StateWrestling Championship over the weekend however, he made it to the third round. This year’s competition took place at Jim Norick Arena in Oklahoma City on the State Fairgrounds. Earp lost on Feb. 22 against Corlin Cass of Pawhuska. Cass pinned him at a minute and 48 seconds. He then won on Feb. 23 against Ryker Ernce from Perry, pinning Ernce at two minutes and 42 seconds. On Feb. 24, Earp fell to Jackson Martin from Berryhill in one minute and 15 seconds. Earp is a two-time state qualifier in wrestling. Last year, he placed fourth and was one of three wrestlers from Chandler that qualified for state.
