A coffee shop is the best place to write. At least according to some writers. It was certainly the best meetup spot for a group of student writers from Chandler over the summer.

Do you have webworms in your trees this year? If you’re a Lincoln County resident, the answer is probably yes.A webworm is a premature moth in the caterpillar stage.Webworm season spans from June to August at the very least and sometimes if a second generation is produced it lasts into October.

Dale hires adjuncts

Dale Board of Education members this week approved hiring of several adjunct teachers for 20242025 and of new support staff in a capacity to be determined by the administration.The adjunct teachers include Alex Benito, Marty Shirey, Sage Higdon and Carrie Hatley.

Deer and duck drawings

Duck and deer hunt drawings for Bellcow and Chandler Lakes will be held on Saturday, August 10.The drawing will be held at 8 a.m. at 902 Joe Long (National) Drive in Chandler (east of the football field). You must show your current hunting license to enter.

$1.6 million to schools

The Lincoln County Partnership for Child Well Being has been awarded the School Nurse Pilot Grant from the Oklahoma State Department of Health, totaling $1.5 million, according to a press release.

Woman charged with assault

A Meeker woman faces two felonies and a Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff suffered a broken leg as he attempted to arrest her while responding to domestic disturbance.

Ambulance question to be on ballot

Lincoln County commissioners this week voted unanimously to call for an election to establish an Emergency Medical Service District composed of all of Lincoln County.The election will be held on Nov. 5 to coincide with this year’s General Election.
