Another Stroud Summer Fest has wrapped up. Congratulations to the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Stroud for a successful event. I was out of town, but I heard nothing but rave reviews about the event.

Chandler chugging along on parks

While rain has added some delays to construction on parks in Chandler, both projects are still full steam ahead.Imel Park, which is located behind Chandler City Hall, now has a pavilion, with the new sidewalk along Route 66 installed during the first two weeks of June. Scapes, Inc.

Meeker school board meeting

Meeker Board of Education members this week voted to offer contracts to four new teachers and accepted the resignation of one other teacher.Without going into executive session, board members voted to offer contracts to the following for the 2025-2026 school year.

Chandler film wins awards

There was more than the 25th anniversary to celebrate at this year’s deadCenter Film Festival in Oklahoma City. Two men with connections to Lincoln and Pottawatomie counties received awards.

Arrest made in Embezzlement

AChandlerwomanhas been arrested for allegedly embezzling $170,000 from a Meeker business and she was transported to the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler.Meeker Assistant Police Chief Scott Wilson identified the woman as Lesa Manning, 64.

Terry Lee Mullendore was born July 3, 1955, to Melvin and Louise (Miliken) Mullendore. He passed away May 24, 2025, at his home in Wellston at the age of 69.Terry was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his brother and best friend, along with other family and friends.

Shirley June (Moody) Johnson passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the age of 81, in Lawrence, Kansas. She was born on November 1, 1943, to Myron Moody and Coleene Chapman in Oklahoma City.Shirley graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, Oklahoma, in 1961.
