Meeker Elementary honor rolls

Officials at Meeker Elementary School have released the honor rolls for the first semester of the 2021- 2022 school year. The following students were on the Principal’s Honor Roll.

Wellston Elementary School principal Alisha Bennett released the names of students earning awards for the fall semester of the 2021-2022 school year. The following students achieved perfect attendance for the entire semester.

Wellston receives TSET grant

The Town of Wellston is one of only six communities in Oklahoma recently awarded grants from the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust Board of Directors. The town received $22,000 through the TSET Healthy Incentive Grant Program.

Driver dies in I-44 crash

A truck driver was killed and four other persons were injured, two critically, in a traffic collision involving six vehicles on the Turner Turnpike in Lincoln County.

Class A and B hoops districts

Wellston will host a Class A district tournament, while Davenport will be on the road for its district. In Class B, Agra and Carney both will go on the road for districts. Wellston will host Barnsdall and Regent Prep, with the Tigers getting byes in both the girls and boys brackets.

Richard Lee Davis

Richard Lee Davis was born to Burton and Edith (Donaldson) Davis on May 8, 1965, in Enid, Okla. He died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at his home in Wellston. He was 56 years old. Richard served as a volunteer fireman for Wellston and performed various duties for the Wellston Public School system.
