Assessor’s audit results

The Oklahoma State Board of Equalization certified that Lincoln County Assessor Jackie Holcomb’s office is in compliance with two major annual audits at its meeting on Dec. 1. The State Board reviewed information on all 77 counties and acted upon the recommendation of the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

UCO fall grads announced

Officials at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond announced the names of that will graduate during the Fall 2021 Commencement Ceremonies Dec. 17-18 in Central’s Hamilton Field House. Among the graduates are the following students from our coverage area.

Meeker wins award for park

Keep Okahoma Beautiful recently announced the Town of Meeker was the recipient of its Team Builders Project for its Glenn Crest Park project. The project was completed in April.

After finishing up putting some Christmas lights around our patio last Saturday afternoon, I took a breather and just sat down in my chair. Saturday had turned out to be a pretty nice day with a slight northerly breeze after a chilly morning.

Town Talk

I did a little snooping around and found out that Head Start is moving its offices to Main Street into the building that was the former Sparks Winery tasting room. There have been a few other businesses in it since the tasting room, but the building is owned by J. L. Gilbert of the Sparks Winery.

Deferred sentences

A Stroud woman has admitted charges of enabling physical abuse of a minor and child neglect and has been handed two, five-year deferred sentences. Melissa Suzanne Reinhardt, 39, was formally charged April 8 in Lincoln County District Court with enabling physical abuse of a minor and child neglect.

Assault and battery charge

Chandler police and a Lincoln County deputy arrested a subject after they were called to a reported domestic assault of a woman who had suffered a stroke three weeks earlier. A formal charge of domestic assault and battery was filed in Lincoln County District Court on Nov.
