Schools take funding hit

The Department of Education earlier this month handed out mid-term adjustments to funding allocations and between Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties only one district received an increase. Chandler took the largest hit of the nine public school districts in Lincoln County.

Child abuse charges filed

Two people from Harrah have been charged with multiple child sexual abuse crimes following their arrest in early January. Amanda D. Bond-Langston, 32, and Jeremy C. Barnes, Sr., 36, each face six counts of child sexual abuse and one count each of child neglect.

Drug charges at jail

A Wellston woman faces two felony charges after she reportedly brought drugs into the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler and also disseminated them. Sarah Dawn Brumley, 38, is accused of bringing drugs into the jail in late December and being in possession of them as an inmate.

Prague plans OPAT Play Day

There will be an Oklahoma Parents as Teachers Play Day 10-11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 22, at the Prague Upper Elementary School. The focus will be on activities to develop fine motor skills. Children can take part in activities, crafts and games. Snacks will be served.
