More COVID deaths

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has increased again in Pottawatomie County over the last past week, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports.

Four additional deaths have been reported in Pottawatomie County. Among them are a female and a male, both in the 65 or older age group, the OSDH said.

Information on the other two was not available from the OSDH.

Over the past week the number of positive cases has continued to rise in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln counties.

The number of deaths in Lincoln County as of Tuesday remained at 37, the same as a week ago.

In Pottawatomie County that number is now 46. It was 42 last week.

The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 299 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 131, according to figures provided by the OSDH.

Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 430 in the last seven days.

Lincoln County’s number this week is 2,592. A week ago it was 2,461. Two weeks ago it was 2,236 the OSDH said.

The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County this week stands at 6,710. Last week it was 6,411.

Total number of people testing positive in the two counties now stands at 9,302, according to the OSDH.

A week ago that number stood at 8,872. Two weeks ago the number was 8,096.

Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is 8,409, according to OSDH figures. In Pottawatomie County, 6,084 have recovered and 2,325 have recovered in Lincoln County.

Statewide as of Tuesday 358,374 have tested positive, there have been 3,037 deaths and 319,201 who have recovered.

Last week there were 337,457 testing positive, there had been 2,804 deaths and 294,629 had recovered. There were 40,024 active cases a week ago.

This week on Tuesday, the OSDH reported 1,558 new positive cases confirmed and 43 additional deaths.
