Lincoln County Commissioners this week took action to submit changes to the budget maker for the 2020-2021 fiscal year budget.
County Clerk Alicia Wagnon explained the commissioners increased the County Assessor’s Capital Outlay by $100,000 for new software.
The commissioners will submit a figure of $10,449,444.83 to the budget maker, she said.
“Anything in excess of what County Officers and Department heads requested in their budget will be put away for safekeeping in the General Fund’s Benefits account,” she added.
Commissioners approved submitting the changes to the budget maker.
“They have scheduled a Special meeting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and a public hearing will be held at 9:15 a.m. with the Excise Board to discuss the budget and hopefully it will be approved then,” Wagnon said.
The $10.4 million budget figure would include $50 a month raises for all county employees as previously discussed, she noted.
Commissioners approved four quotes from Apprentice. They include three for networking infrastructure and one for a wireless access point.
The networking infrastructure quotes are: $8,936 for the bank building the commissioners recently purchased; $17,406 for the District Attorney’s Office; and $20,802 for the Sheriff’s Office. They approved $2,045 for the wireless access point for the Court Clerk’s Office.
On another issue, Wagnon said that commissioners gave the go ahead for Spirit Architect Group, L.L.C., to help draw up the plans for jail renovations and there will be a contractor who will be construction manager that will prepare the bids.
“We will then go out for bids like we should,” she stated.
The commissioners agreed to allow the sheriff to use county owned property in Stroud for training.
Wagnon pointed out, “There are 10 acres near the airport not being used and this is for a 40-hour squad school in November.”
A resolution was adopted by the commissioners to reimburse the Assessor’s General Fund account.
They approved Declaration of Surplus for Emergency Management, County Clerk’s Office, Sheriff’s Office and the Treasurer’s Office, Wagnon said.
A resolution was adopted to dispose of equipment in the Sheriff’s Office and the Treasurer’s Office.
Wagnon stated that commissioners approved REAP grant applications and all related documents for Sparks Fire, Merrick Fire, N.E. Lincoln County Fire, District 2 and District 3 Commissioners.
She said one for the Fair Board was held up because it wasn’t ready, but should be approved during the Special meeting on Oct. 14.
Another resolution was adopted for reimbursement from the CARES Act for COVID related expenses.
Commissioners also approved a Mutual Cooperation Agreement with the City of Chandler for the construction, improvement, repair or maintenance to roads and bridges within city limits, Wagnon noted.
A resolution also was approved authorizing reimbursement to the County Election Board for COVID related expenses.
