The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has increased in both Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties over the past the week.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports three more people have died in Pottawatomie County and there is one additional death in Lincoln County. Pottawatomie County now has 18 people who have died and Lincoln County has 23, for a total of 41 between the two counties.

The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties has continued to rise in the last week, the OSDH reports.

The latest three deaths in Pottawatomie County are all females and each is in the 65 and older age group, the OSDH said.

The latest death in Lincoln County is a male in the 50-64 age group, the OSDH reports.

The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 162 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 83, according to figures provided by the OSDH.

Lincoln County’s number this week is 942. A week ago it was 859. Two weeks ago it was 794 the OSDH said.

The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County this week stands at 2,537. Last week it was 2,375. The county’s total two weeks ago was 2,211.

Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 245 people in the last seven days.

Total number of people testing positive in the two counties now stands at 3,479, according to the OSDH.

A week ago that number stood at 3,234. Two weeks ago the number was 3,005.

Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is 2,997, according to OSDH figures. In Pottawatomie County, 2,220 have recovered and 777 have recovered in Lincoln County.

Statewide as of Monday, 138,455 have tested positive, there have been 1,444 deaths and 116,882 who have recovered. Active cases stood at 20,129, the OSDH said.

Last week there were 126,526 testing positive, there had been 1,375 deaths and 109,234 had recovered.

There were 15,927 active cases a week ago.

This week on Monday, the OSDH reported more than 2,197 new positive cases confirmed and six additional deaths.

The OSDH reports 1,571,321 have tested negative.
