COVID deaths rise

Lincoln County has recorded five more deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the last week and Pottawatomie County has recorded an additional death as well, the Oklahoma State Department of Health says.

The two latest deaths in Lincoln County are both males in the 65 and older age group, the OSDH said. Information on the other three wasn’t available on Tuesday. No information was available either on the latest death in Pottawatomie County. There have now been 27 deaths between the two counties attributed to the virus.

The number of people in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties testing positive for COVID-19 continues to rise, the Oklahoma State Department of Health says. The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 146 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 75, according to figures provided by the OSDH.

Lincoln County’s number on Tuesday was 723. A week ago it was 648 the OSDH said.

The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County as of Tuesday this week stood at 1,939. Last Tuesday it was 1,793.

Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 221 people in the last seven days.

Total number of people testing positive in the two counties now stands at 2,662. A week ago that number stood at 2,441.

Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is 2,196 according to OSDH figures.

In Pottawatomie County, 1,636 have recovered and 560 have recovered in Lincoln County.

Statewide as of Tuesday, 109,548 have tested positive, there have been 1,191 deaths and 93,698 who have recovered. Active cases stood at 14,659 the OSDH said.
