Chamber gears up for Christmas

Tree Lighting Festival The Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce will kick off the Christmas season, 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6, with a Tree Lighting Festival in Downtown Chandler at the Lincoln County Courthouse.

In addition to a Tree Lighting Ceremony, some of the “Winter Wonderland” activities planned are Gingerbread House and Courthouse Door Decorating contests and a Sing Out for Christmas Choir competition. There will be Christmas carolers, retail vendors and food trucks, photo opportunities, children’s Christmas crafts, and more.

Annual Christmas Parade The Chandler Area Chamber invites you to participate in the Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7. Citizen of the Year Larry Lenora will serve as Grand Marshall for the parade.

A monetary prize will be awarded to the first, second and third place float winners. All band entries will be awarded $150 for participating. The theme for this year’s parade is “Winter Wonderland.” To be eligible for prize money, you must follow the theme.

Parade line-up will take place at 10 a.m. at the corner of Sixth and Steele near Memorial School. The parade will begin promptly at 11 a.m. Santa Claus will be in the Courthouse lobby immediately after the Christmas Parade. Free pictures with Santa will be taken and available on site.
