CHANDL Wednesday, Aug. 5, a Chandler residents house caught on fire.
According to Chandler Fire Chief Billy Buchanan, how the fire started is currently under investigation by the Oklahoma State Fire Marshall.
Buchanan 5.3 said V8, Auto, the State Air & More! Fire Marshall Stock is called in to investigate anytime there is #15012 a suspicious fire.
According to Oklahoma State Fire 5.3 V8, Auto, Air & More! Marshall Agent Donny Howard, the reported Stock #15012time of the fire was around 2:00 p.m.
Howard said the fire has been determined as an incendiary fire, which means it was an intentional fire.
“Incendiary fire is saying human interaction occurred in causing the fire to occur,” he said.
There was only one person on the scene, James Maxey, who was not injured, ER, OK but was arrested.
According to Chandler Police Chief Matt Matteyer, Maxey was arrested for second degree arson, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, posses sion or a firearm while intoxicated and 5.3 V8, Auto, Air & More Stock reckless conduct with a firearm.
Howard said evidence has been sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations for more testing, but will take a few 5.3 V8, Auto, Air & More Stock weeks before results are released.
Although there was fire and smoke damage, Buchanan said the house was not a total loss.
The house is at 1123 East 1st Street.
The Chandler, Davenport, Stroud and Wellston fire departments responded to the call.
