City approves raises

During the monthly Stroud City Council meeting, the city council approved Other actions made a three percent raise for all Stroud City employees.

“We ask so much for our employees,” City Manager Bob Pearman said. “There’s noLifeteam Affinity Agment way we could pay them what they deserve.”

This new raise will go into effect this next pay period.

During the meeting Pearman said they budgeted for the raise and that it works out to be around 50 cents an hour.

“We’ve got some of the best employees,” he said. “Why not reward them.”

When it comes to giving a raise, Pearman said they look at the emTo amenployees’ current salaries and those in the surrounding areas.

“We want to stay competitive,” he said.

Pearman said they’ve given raises for the past three years.

Other actions made by board members include:

• Approval of the consent agenda including the Jan. 9 minutes, payments of purchase orders/ claims, payment of special purchase orders/ claims and the financial statement.

• No action was made regarding the CH Guernsey City of Stroud Rate Study.

• No action was made regarding the Air Evac Lifeteam Affinity Agreement.

• Approval to appoint Charles Palmer as a Stroud Industrial Authority Trustee as recommended by the Stroud Industrial Authority Board.

• Approval to surplus equipment and various miscellaneous items.

Acting as the Stroud Industrial Authority, the city council approved:

• To amend the contract with Stroud Food Pantry,

• To amend Memorandum of Understanding with Grand River Dam Authority.
