City raises rates for sewer, water

Acting as the Municipal Authority, the Chandler City Council approved to increase the water and sewer rates by three percent.

The current bill, which includes trash as well as water and sewer, will increase from $40.07 to $40.70, according to the spreadsheet Melson provided to the council.

This change will take effect on the April 1st bill cycle.

Other actions made by board members include:

-Approval of the consent agenda for the city council which included the minutes of the regular and special board meeting on Jan. 14, ratification of claims paid in January in the amount of $677,620.56 and financial and departmental reports.

-Approval of the consent agenda for the municipal authority which included the Jan. 14 regular meeting minutes, ratification of claims paid in January in the amount of $281,474.95 and financial reports.

-Tabled accepting the Fiscal Year 2019 audit by Michael Green, CPA.

-Approval of the Interlocal Jail Agreement.

-Approval to accept the Budget Agreement in the amount of $11,229.98 for the Chandler Regional Airport derived from the OAC Grant.

-Approval to accept the Budget Agreement in the amount of $102,210.13 for the Splash Pad Project derived from the Department of Tourism and Recreation Grant

-Approval to accept the Budget Amendment in the amount of $1,000 for the Senior Citizen Center derived from the COEDD CENA Grant.
