A funeral service will be held for Douglas Leon Barnes of Hutchinson, Kan., at 10 a.m., Friday, October 29, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church in Hutchinson. Burial with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Elliott Mortuary of Hutchinson.
Barnes was born September 28, 1954, in Hutchinson. He died Saturday, October 23, 2021, in Hutchinson at the age of 67 years.
The son of Ivan and Glenda Barnes, he married Debbie Loudenback.
A 1973 graduate of Wellston High School, he served in the United States Navy and retired from Eaton Hydraulics in Hutchinson.
His father preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother Glenda Forbes and his daughter and sonin-law, Tanda Barnes and Michael Wages, all of Hutchinson; two sons, Toby Barnes of Abbyville, Kan., and Jeremy Stauffacher of Hutchinson; his sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Ronnie Davenport of Wellston; Charlene Mumford of Hutchinson; five grandchildren; and other family and friends.
