William Edward Sporleder

Lifelong Davenport resident William “Bill” Edward Sporleder was born to Julius M. and Juanita (Castleberry) Sporleder on August 8, 1942, in Chandler. He died Friday, November 26, 2021, in Drumright, Okla., due to an illness caused by cancer. He was 79 years old.

Sporleder, a 1960 graduate of Davenport High School, attended Central State College in Edmond, Okla., and served in the United States Army. He worked for CMI Corporation before becoming engaged in family farming and cattle operation. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Davenport.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Betty Leake, his brother Joe W. Sporleder and a brother-in-law, Ronald Shuey.

Survivors include two sisters, Phyllis A. Shuey of Ardmore, Okla., and Barbara S. Starling of Oklahoma City; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael Sporleder and Don and Paula Sporleder, all of Davenport; a brother-in-law and his wife, Vernon and Von Leake of Davenport; and other family and friends.

Graveside services were held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Davenport Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Final arrangements were under the direction of Affordable Cremation Service of Oklahoma City.
