A Luther man died this week in a onevehicle collision southwest of Carney.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Broden Carls identified the man who died as Michael Brian Marshall, 52.
Carls said Marshall was transported by Survival Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and was pronounced dead from head, neck, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.
The trooper reported the collision oc curred around 10:20 a.m. Monday just south of County Road S3320 and County Road E860, about two miles south and four miles west of Carney in Lincoln County.
Carls said Marshall was driving his 2013 Nissan Titan northbound on County Road 3320. The vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason impacting the left ditch, the trooper reported. The vehicle then went into a broadside traveling 120 feet before reentering the roadway.
The vehicle came to rest in the road, Carls said.
Carls noted Marshall was pinned in his vehicle for an unknown amount of time and extracted by the Wellston Fire Department.
The trooper reported the condition of the driver at the time of the fatal crash was normal. He said the cause of the collision is under investigation.
Carls, of the Pottawatomie County Detachment of Troop A, reported the vehicle was unequipped with seat belts.
Assisting Carls were Troopers Matt Snyder and Nathan Battershell of the Pottawatomie County Detachment of Troop A. Also assisting were the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wellston Police Department, Survival Flight and Wellston Fire Department.
