Mary Alliene (Hull) Gray

Mary Alliene (Hull) Gray passed away at her home in Chandler, Okla., surrounded by her loving family on January 16, 2022.

Mary was born Dec. 23, 1933, in Matoy, Okla., to Ollie L. and Grace (Nichols) Hull. She was raised in the Matoy area but later relocated to Chandler where she graduated from Chandler High School in 1953. She married Floyd J. Gray in September of 1953.

Mary worked at the Chandler sewing factory for over 30 years. After retirement, she volunteered at the Museum of Pioneer History and Chandler Elementary Schools for 15 years respectively. Mary was a longtime member of Chandler Friends Church where she was involved in various activities and church dinners. When she wasn’t working or volunteering, Mary loved to sew, crochet, tend her flower and vegetable gardens, feed and watch birds, and attend grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She also loved to cook for holidays and family Sunday dinners, which she always hosted at her home filled with family photos and mementos.

Mary was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Ollie and Grace Hull; her husband of 57 years Floyd J. Gray; and one brother, Avery Everett Hull.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons James Dale Gray of Ripley, Okla.; Donald Gray and wife Debbie and Tony Gray and wife Janice, all of Chandler; Sister Raydonia Herring of Chandler and two brothers, Stanley Hull and wife Mildred of Calera, Okla., and Larry Hull and wife Annette of Shawnee, Okla.; Grandchildren James Glen Gray of Jefferson City, Mo.; Brandy Martin and husband Les of Pryor, Okla.; Erin King and husband Scott of Morrison, Okla.; Adam Gray and wife Blayre of Yukon, Okla.; Gavin Gray of Chandler and Heath Gray of Edmond, Okla.; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Mary will be 10 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, at Chandler Friends Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Museum of Pioneer History in Chandler. Condolences can be expressed at www.parksbrothers.net.
