A pre-preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Prague man facing three felonies after he was arrested for allegedly firing a rifle at two men.
Samuel Lane Wyatt, 31, was formally charged Dec. 17 in Lincoln County District Court with two counts of shooting with intent to kill and possession of a firearm while on probation.
Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk set his bond at $50,000. He made an initial appearance before Judge Kirk on Dec. 20 and was ordered to reappear at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20.
On Jan. 20, Special Judge Emily Mueller set his pre-preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. on Apr. 21.
Count No. 1 against Wyatt accuses him on Dec. 13 of shooting at Dennis Owens with a firearm, a 30-30 Winchester rifle, a deadly weapon and wrongfully and intentionally pointing and firing at Owens with the intent to kill him.
The second count against Wyatt charges him on the same day of shooting at Kyle Lippincott with a 30-30 rifle with the intent to kill Lippincott.
The third count against Wyatt, possession of a firearm while on probation, accuses him on the same day of having in his possession and control a 30-30 Winchester rifle and a .380 Smith and Wesson pistol.
Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff James Robinson in an affidavit filed in the case related he was dispatched to 1010597 SH 99 on Dec. 13 in reference to Samuel Wyatt shooting at both Owens and Lippincott.
Robinson requested assistance from Prague, Stroud and the Sac and Fox Police Departments.
Lippincott advised they could not see Wyatt anymore and believed he went into the sale barn. Owens is partial owner of the land and the sale barn, the affidavit states.
A little later, Wyatt reportedly came out of the barn with his hands raised. He was placed in investigative detention.
