Charges filed for harboring fugitive

The mother and sister of a Prague man facing six felonies each have been charged with harboring a fugitive from justice.

Karen Vancuren, 34, of Prague, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court July 29 with harboring a fugitive from justice. Lincoln County deputies reported in a probable cause affidavit that she is the sister of Mick Devin Vancuren who has been charged with a total of six felonies and several misdemeanors in three separate cases A $3,000 bench warrant was initially issued for her arrest and court records show the warrant was returned and filed Aug. 8. She appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on that date and she scheduled Vancuren’s initial appearance for Sep. 29.

On Sep. 29, Special Judge Emily Mueller set her prepreliminary hearing for Nov. 17. Also facing a felony harboring a fugitive from justice count is Robin Lea Marsh, 65, of Prague, identified by deputies in a probable cause affidavit as Vancuren’s mother. The charge was formally filed on Aug. 8 in Lincoln County District Court.

Marsh’s bond was set at $5,000 and she made her initial appearance on Sep. 29. Judge Mueller set her prepreliminary for Nov. 17. Marsh and Kara Vancuren are accused of aiding, assisting and concealing Mick Vancuren when they knew law enforcement officers were looking for him for the purpose of executing warrants for his arrest.

Marsh, along with Mick and Kara Vancuren were arrested on June 9, the probable cause affidavit states, as deputies were attempting to serve outstanding warrants on Mick Vancuren.
